Mona Lisa... Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa, men have named you
You're so like the lady with the mystic smile
Is it only 'cause you're lonely they have blamed you?
For that Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile?
-
Incase you missed it, the world now knows who the Mona Lisa really is. A researcher in Berlin discovered that she is "Lisa del Giocondo, wife of Florentine businessman Francesco del Giocondo, according to notes written in the margins of a book by a friend of Leonardo da Vinci's as the artist worked on the masterpiece."

Now... onto the next mystery. Whose lovely, but sanguine face is in that Maio painting hanging in my studio?
-
Hmmmmmm.

The Sunday Morning Muse, January 27, 2008

Here it is Sunday again. I came across this painting I did when I was in high school. Linus was on one of my binders... and I sketched him and painted him. I kept it all these years.
Dontcha just feel like you need a security blanket sometimes?
-
I mean everyday we get pounded with "the sky is falling" type news. We are in a RECESSION... what are we gonna do about GLOBAL WARMING... more people were blown up by SUICIDE BOMBERS..... not to mention the REAL IMPORTANT STUFF like what are we gonna do about Erectile Dysfunction? Shaky leg syndrome? Cholesterol?
I really need a break from TV.

The Lion and the Lamb

My fellow Van Morrison fans know the lyrics from Fire in the Belly... "gotta get through January.... gotta get through February..." well, here it is.... MARCH. Will it snow much longer?

According to an old proverb, March weather is.. in like a lion, out like a lamb. But how true is it? Have you ever paid attention? It was in the 40's today... nothing turbulent about the first day of the month yet here... other places have had tornadoes and such, but so far just more gray and blah, cloudy weather. Maybe we should give it a few days. "Kick in" the month-- see what the trend is going to be before we label it one way or another.

Is It Valentine's Day Yet?

The left over Decemberween wrapping paper and Santa Claus snow globes are 75 percent off, but little chocolate hearts are full price as we start the countdown to Valentine's Day.
Does anyone remember when stores were
holiday-item free at any particular time of year?
