"To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive."
-Robert Louis Stevenson

I first learned of this quote when I read a book by Kurt Vonnegut's son Mark, called The Eden Express many years ago. The book is about his journey upon graduation from Swarthmore College to British Columbia where he and his friends set up a commune. The book deals a lot with his personal experience with schizophrenia and he eventually does end up in a mental hospital. I remembered the book all these years because it was just so compelling. Viewing the world from his very challenged point of view left me at times wondering what was real and what was his imagination. And that was his intention. A view inside of his mind... where something was going really wrong. The writing was intensely personal.
