The Sunday Morning Muse, August 28, 2011

Sunday once again. Not much going on so I watched some more wall to wall hurricane coverage. In this age of 24/7 news the reporting skills are really suffering. You almost feel as if you want to see the storm rage against the weather man and send him flying into the surge, just because you are tired of hearing him chatter on and on repeating the same stuff while standing in 30 mile an hour winds and talking about how no one should be outside.
-
No, I don't mean that, but in a movie it would be satisfying to watch if it were a particularly irritating weatherman. Not Al Roker or anyone we "know."
-
I must say the preparation for the storm, if you are to believe the talking heads, was excellent. You can't have more advanced notice. And it seems that the Coast Guard emergency responders and the Red Cross are all ready and willing to help, supplies all streaming in the direction where they are needed.
-
We did learn something from Katrina after all.
